Last week, UMONS proudly represented 🇧🇪 Belgium at Hannover Messe, Europe's largest industrial technology fair, alongside notable partners such as WBI, AWEX, ULiège, and CRM Group. The event served as a platform to highlight cutting-edge innovations, including InfraSecure, a groundbreaking solution designed to enhance worksite security. 🔒

InfraSecure, developed under the UMONS-INFRABEL collaboration project titled "Worker Protection with AI," was presented by Pr. Sidi-Ahmed Mahmoudi and Ir. Mohamed Benkedadra from the Department of Computer Science, Software, and Artificial Intelligence. The solution integrates advanced AI models to ensure the safety of workers in construction environments, offering real-time monitoring and protection capabilities. The live demonstration attracted significant attention, showcasing the potential of AI-driven technologies in industrial applications. 🤖🛡️

Mohamed Benkedadra, currently pursuing his doctoral thesis on enhancing construction site security through embedded AI models, emphasized the importance of applying AI for proactive safety measures. 👷‍♂️📊

Pr. Sidi-Ahmed Mahmoudi did a presentation where he highlighted the work conducted at the DeepILIA, emphasizing the team's commitment to advancing AI applications in safety-critical environments. He showcased various projects that the lab is currently working on.
